Questions
Who is my
family? One week before arriving in Costa Rica,
students will have access to this information including; the
name, telephone number, and address of their
families.
Can I stay with
my family following my classes with E.S.I?
Yes, but the cost of extra day with your
family will be 25 dollars, and it has to be arranged through
the school.
How will I get to
school on my first day of classes? A family member will walk with the
student to school on the first day of classes.
Things to know
before you come to Costa Rica
We recommend that students register
within one week of their arrival in Costa Rica.
Bring a dictionary (ex. English -
Spanish)
Bring earplugs if you are a light
sleeper.
Bring a waterproof windbreaker, umbrella,
enclosed shoes, and a light sweater during the rainy season,
from May to November. We also recommend that you bring sun
block, sandals or tennis shoes, light weight clothes, sun
glasses, and mosquito repellent for the summer time, from
December to May. Ripped, stamped, or dollars with words
written on them are not accepted anywhere in Costa
Rica.
International calls: MCI or ATT calling
cards are accepted in Costa Rica.
There is a $26 airport departure tax to
leave Costa Rica.
You should bring traveler's checks and we
recommend you to write a list with the numbers of the
traveler's checks. Visa and Master Card are widely accepted in
Costa Rica.
Make photocopies of your passport,
airline ticket, and other important documents.
Bring any necessary
medications. Flying to Costa Rica: Some of the
Airlines that offer flights to Costa Rica are: LACSA (Grupo
TACA, National Airline), American Airlines, Continental,
United, Delta Airlines, Iberia, KLM, and Martin
